![]() Montrose to Home All the usual suspects were there at the station, though, and it wasn't long before the train arrived. Cliche as it is, it really didn't seem possible that we were already travelling home after almost 12 months' anticipation of the 2006 Challenge. Still, there was home to look forward to (and particularly 3 episodes of House and Grey's Anatomy, for me!) so it wasn't all bad. I sat with Rose, Bob and Caburn, and David limped along at one stage to say hello and sit for a while. ![]() He'd had the great idea at the bash the night before of asking people to make little drawings for him, to encapsulate fun times gone by, and he'd made me a drawing of the four of us jigging up and down on the Tailors' Stone a week before :) He now produced a picture that Tim had already had developed of the amazing moment, and I produced David's drawing to compare them side by side :) ![]() Too quickly it was time for Bob, Rose, Caburn, David and Tom to get off, and I managed to find a place to sit in a carriage further down with Barbara and Sue. The journey passed as quickly as a 6 hour journey is ever likely to pass, but I was relieved when we got to Wigan, and happy to be almost back. I missed Barbara and Sue on the platform, but set off with Tim and Kate to get the train for the final leg of the journey. Less than an hour later we were in Southport, and - after a happy visit to Waitrose to stock up on lots of yummy things to eat - I jumped into a taxi and finally got home. And that was that for this year! Return to Home page -- Previous page |
